October Monthly Post
☙October Monthly Post
Waking up (or at exactly midnight if you’re not sleeping), there’s a now familiar ping and then a blue panel:
Stratum 1: Emerald Grove, F4 UNLOCKED!
Once again, clicking ‘MAP’ and looking at the second floor of the Yggdrasil Labyrinth and somewhere near the back, there is an icon indicating a set of stairs going down. If you had been in that spot previously, there would have only been a dead end. Go there now and you will find a set of stairs going lower.
As you step into the third floor, you will find that the map for this area is completely blank...and you will also find new things to explore...
Here is October’s Monthly Mod Post! As of this post, Floor 4 is now unlocked for characters to explore! There are also more Quests available at the Golden Deer Pub! Just talk to Fontayne to see them! Remember that Quests along with Labyrinth Encounters are listed under ‘This Month Only’ because they are only available this month! Enemy information and Scavengable Items remain forever. Labyrinth Information Page will list information that is consistent every month.
The form for Activity Check this Month is here still and the spreadsheet for checking it is here. Remember AC is only check in this month forward!
For this month, we will use the same TDM post from last month since it didn't get any replies. Why waste it? Reserves will be opened tonight as well.
☙Floor 4 Information:
☙October Only:
(Taking this quest will lead to Fontayne replying with a string of □ and blanks. Then immediately after you receive the quest you're notified that you've completed it! Reporting to Fontayne results in another string of □ and blanks...at least you do receive a reward! Reply here to find out what your character got! For this quest a second person isn't required. Consider it this month's freebie reward for everyone. )
Feel free to use this post to find quest partners or make plans!
Quests should be reported here.
If you have any questions, please ask them here!

☙October Only:
Labyrinth Encounters
ENCOUNTER:
An explosion echoes through the stratum, shaking the walls around you and making your head ring for a little while. Surely it can't be anything good, right? You might want to run but unfortunately the creatures of the Labyrinth have other ideas. Strangely enough, they're all heading towards the source of the sound with what seems to be an almost single-minded focus, sweeping you along regardless of what you want to do.
Help your fellow travellers, they have as much choice over this as you do!
Once you arrive though, what you find is….
Candy. Piles and piles of colourful candy in jewel-like colours and the Labyrinth's denizens happily gorging themselves on it.
What will you do?
>> Take Some
Despite standing among the monsters of the Labyrinth you choose to be brave and reach for your own handful of candy.
Except now you'll have to fight your way out with your fistful of treats against creatures who are trying their very best to sneak past and take a nibble! If you successfully defend yourself and get out, you get candy, able to heal 10 HP each.
>> Leave It
It might be the smarter choice but while turning around you come face-to-face with a pumpkin-like creature which stumbles over, crashing into another monster and starting off a chain reaction of slapstick violence. Except now they're all fighting and if you don't get out you're going to be dragged in!
Quests
Go to the Golden Deer Pub to receive quests! Fontayne will let you know that as per Expedition HQ requirements, quest can only be undertaken by parties of two or more people! No dungeon diving on your own is allowed.
Quest 1: Pumpkin Carving
Carve a pumpkin to help decorate the town. The catch? The dropped item 'PUMPKIN HEAD' gotten from defeating the Hexgourd lasts much longer than regular pumpkins so that's what is being asked for here. Go defeat a Hexgourd then bring back the item and carve it. For some reason, despite how the Hexgourd looks the dropped item is smooth and whole but easy to cut into. Hopefully you get the PUMPKIN HEAD instead of the more common drop PUMPKIN VINE.
Success Conditions: Get a PUMPKIN HEAD and carve it.
Failure Conditions: Fail to get a PUMPKIN HEAD to carve
Quest 2: Making Apple Cider
Vivian has put in a request for ingredients to make apple cider! There are some apple trees in F4 that make the most delicious apple cider. Pick a basket of them and bring them back. You'll need at least 10 apples to fill the basket! But beware! These apple trees have their own defenses. Occasionally, you may pick an apple that will explode in your hand causing 15HP damage each.
Success Conditions: Bring back a basket full of apples
Failure Conditions: Fail to find ten apples or die while picking them.
