Event 01: Explorers of a New World
Here is the OOC information for our first event! The event log will be posted tomorrow!
☙Gladsheim
A. Waking Up
You wake up in what looks like a cryogenic pod. There are other pods around you, some of them still sealed shut and others open with people stepping out of them like you did. There’s some technology around you but all of it is overgrown with plants. There are some panels but touching them only causes a sad whirring sound before...nothing happens.
After a moment there’s a pinging sound before a blue panel, like the one that brought you here, that pops up.
Then the door leaving out of this area opens up, draw your weapons and prepare to fight!
Most of the monsters seem to be some kind of small woodland creature but bigger. Be careful! In Gladsheim there are a lot of blocked corridors, locked doors and dead ends...try not to get cornered alone! There are also some large bats that can drain health!
☙Labyrinth Floor 1
As soon as you make it out of Gladsheim, there’s a pinging sound before a blue panel pops up again. Congratulations on making it out of Gladsheim!
...following that is an unskippable tutorial teaching you how to open the menu, access your inventory, read messages and see your status! There is a grayed out selection that says ‘Guildmates’.
After that, there’s another ping...followed by the following message:
There is a mysterious labyrinth near Etria. Expedition HQ is trying to decide if it is worth looking into and they have requested your help! Explore the first floor of the Labyrinth and see what you find in there!
If you stay in town there, you will find that none of the buildings seem to be real or enter-able. The only part that can be interacted with is where you enter the Labyrinth and you will be given a choice to enter the Yggdrasil Labyrinth or Gladsheim. There is, of course, a flashing red symbol beside Yggdrasil Labyrinth.]
A. Don’t Touch the Shrooms
Inside the Yggdrasil Labyrinth is a lush forest...with monsters that match. Giant rats, moles and even insects. Still, the scenery is nice, with flowers and greenery dotting the landscape. Still, as you walk you may notice some logs with strange mushrooms growing on them. Get too close either on purpose or by mistake and the mushrooms explode in a cloud of spores.
The pink mushroom with white dots gives you a boost in speed...but watch out, the pink mushrooms with light blue dots cause the status ailment Confusion. If you’re running into these during a firefight you better hope they’re the right ones!
B. Monster Beetles
The monsters so far haven’t been terribly hard to dispatch, but move further into the first floor and you find some blue beetles the size of a small car. These monsters have a very strong defense and physical attacks aren’t very effective! Looks like it’s time to pair up with someone who can cast spells! Or perhaps you should do some grinding first. Defeating the monster gives you a piece of carapace that can be sold for quite a lot.
☙After Floor 1 is Cleared
At some point, after a lot of exploration, suddenly the dreaded blue panel pops up in front of you again.
Please report to Expedition HQ to claim your reward!
You may be wondering: go where to do what now?
But whenever you return to town you are greeted by another tutorial, this time explaining the different stores that have opened up in Etria as well as a small map marking out where all of them are. Etria is now a town with NPCs and facilities! You can now sell things and buy things.
Talk to Perephone at the Expedition HQ and you will officially have turned in your mission and you get:
1000 gold
Accessory: Bear Paw! One glove that looks like a bear paw. +2 ATTACK
A. A Limited Offer
Well, look at that, Fontayne is actually beckoning at anyone that walks by, gesturing to the blackboard outside the Golden Deer Pub with a cheerful grin (and a terrible pun):
Charred to perfection with a natural heat like lying in the sun but in your mouth, the juicy meat goes so well with the salad made with sour-salty lemons, cucumber and herbs.
Chaos Basil and Mint Buns with Blackberry Butter, NO CHARGE!
Freshly baked soft buns scented with mint and basil, your heart is in chaos over where this has been all your life. Pale purple blackberry butter is sweet with just the right hint of tartness.
Cloud Strawberry and Almond Pavlova, ON THE HOUSE!
Light-as-air, crispy white meringue topped with pale pink cloud strawberries and almond cream. You'll be on cloud nine with one bite!
Water, COMPLIMENTARY!
Fresh water from the spring, comes with a sprig of mint.
B. Guild Hall
It's dark by this point and while you could spend your money at the inn (they are giving you half-off, after all) why do that when the warm lights of the Guild Hall seem to beckon you over. There was that grayed-out option in the menu, right? Guildmates…
Except the grizzled old man running the place gives you a once-over then sends you back out because there can't be a guild with only one member.
i) Time to go find some (new) friends to join this guild of yours. Are you going to make yourself a nice banner? Bribe them with food? Or maybe you're all tired and hey, why not join a guild?
ii) Because as soon as you do, you're handed a key and told to go find your own headquarters. What do they mean by that? You don't even know the address and if not for those few shops you can actually access, the town seems all but deserted.
If you have any questions about the event, feel free to ask us here. Remember that with this characters now have full access to the network as well as everything Etria has to offer. Though there are no stairs at the moment on Floor 1 that leads to the next floor.
